About Teacher Liz
My name is Elizabeth but everyone calls me Liz. I’ve always loved working with children. I’ve wanted to be a preschool teacher ever since childhood. Teaching children is a passion of mine that continues to grow stronger with every year I teach.
I started my journey to becoming a teacher when my daughter was a Head Start student in 2009. I volunteered in her toddler classroom and throughout all her preschool experience. Before even getting my degree, I learned about different types of teaching, including Creative Curriculum and Montessori. I went to community college to obtain my Associates in Early Childhood Education and to Portland State University for my Bachelor’s in Child and Family Studies. Education is a forever changing and growing career to which teachers never stop learning. I plan to receive my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Inclusive Education in the future. I’ve worked as a teacher with children ages 3-5 in private preschools and Head Start programs since 2011 but my true calling is owning and operating my own preschool.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy reading mystery novels, watching movies and TV shows, cooking, baking and cake decorating, going for walks or bike rides, doing crafty projects, traveling to the beach, shopping, playing board games, cuddling with my cats, and spending time with my daughter, partner, family, and friends.
